The Latok Alpine is a multi-purpose jacket blessed with 3-layer eVent material, which is highly breathable, as well as fully waterproof; an active cut with good arm movement which doesn't pull the hem up too much; a slightly longer cut than similar jackets; two huge pockets easily capable of swallowing a laminated OS map, with water resistant zip, and internal storm flaps (not venting pockets contrary to Rab's web description); plus a water resistant front zip with a full length internal storm flap. A huge wired hood which easily accommodates a helmet, and two internal mesh zipper-pockets complete the jacket

The Latok Alpine  is suitable for a wide array of activities including, but not confined to, British hillwalking, Summer Alpinism, Scottish Winter climbing, cycling, and generally wearing around the shops

All of this and it still only weighs 440g (according to Rab - 470g for the Large according to our scales)
